Public meeting next week to discuss cemetery rules

There was public outrage after a grieving couple received a letter about their daughter’s grave

Brackley Town Council have set the date for a public meeting in the wake of the outrage after they asked a family to remove the decorations from their daughter’s grave in the town ‘s cemetery.

Gemma and Jason Sadler received a letter from the Council early in February telling them they had a month to remove the decorations.   The council said that they have received complaints from cemetery visitors.

Gemma and Jason’s daughter Lottie passed away at the age of seven in May 2023 due to an aggressive brain tumour.

Over 4,100 people signed a petition against the decision.

The public meeting will be held next Thursday (March 13) evening at 6.30pm in Egerton Hall.
