Repairs completed on vandalised toilets
16/03/2023
The facility for people living with disabilities had to be closed in January
A Banbury toilet facility which is designed for people with additional needs has been reopened – seven weeks after vandalism meant it had to be closed. Repairs have now been completed at the Changing Places toilet at Banbury Horsefair.
Over £130,000 was invested in a complete refit of the public toilet block back in 2022, including work to create the specialist toilet and changing facility, built for people living with disabilities. The design included more space, an adjustable bench with a motorised hoist, and a number of other features as required by over a quarter of a million people in the UK.
It was hoped the facility would enable people with additional needs to spend longer in the town centre.
The vandalism in January left the Changing Places toilet unsafe for use.
