RESIST beer brewed to show support for Ukraine humanitarian appeal
22/03/2022
Hook Norton Brewery is supporting the Drinkers For Ukraine request
The Hook Norton Brewery has joined others around the world brewing a beer developed by Ukrainian brewers and sold to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal for humanitarian aid.
Drinkers For Ukraine asked breweries to create the Ukrainian Anti-Imperial Stout RESIST as a sign of solidarity.
Hook Norton Brewery has brewed their version of the 6% stout, which is infused with beetroot, supplied by supportive Hook Norton villagers after an appeal was made locally on social media.
RESIST is being made available at the brewery and in selected Hook Norton pubs. Its described as a very dark beer, with a brown head tinged with pinkness. The taste starts with a crisp bitterness from both the hops and the roasted malts, followed by the earthiness from the beetroot, which is displaced by the roast malt character!
