A number of local schools helped raise the money at concerts last November

The Rotary Club of Banbury have presented a cheque for £1,300 to local charity Dogs for Good.

The money comes from the proceeds of the club’s “Children Singing for Children” concerts last November.

Dogs For Good, which is based on Blacklocks Hill, trains dogs to help adults and children with physical disabilities and learning disabilities, children with autism and adults with dementia.  They tailor their support to help people get the most from their connection with a dog.

The cheque was presented to Olivia Rainford (Director of Income Generation), Mel How (Training Team Leader) and Angel from Dogs for Good by Rotarians John Groves, Jonathan Meredith and Alan Woolstencroft.

Olivia Rainford said: “We all know the difference dogs can make to our lives. But for the people they support, our dogs can actually make life possible.”

180 children from 24 schools took part in the Children Singing For Children concerts.

Two more local charities will receive donations from the the Rotary Club of Banbury in the coming weeks.
