School pupils get to meet Scamp the drugs dog
10/03/2022
Valuable educational session for pupils, but some social media users jump to conclusions
Youngsters at the Warriner School got to meet Scamp the drugs dog yesterday during a planned visit to the school by the Thames Valley police’s Schools Officer and members of the Neighbourhood Team. The pupils engaged with the team on various topics including drugs, knife crime and exploitation.
Scamp demonstrated his skills to the youngsters.
Thames Valley Police praised the interaction from the pupils and said that they hoped an important message had been imparted.
Having seen police cars at the school whilst the educational sessions were underway, social media users jumped to conclusions with rumours circulating of an ongoing incident at The Warriner School.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police was quick to quash the rumours, saying: “Social media can be a fantastic thing, but goodness me don’t rumours start and escalate quickly!”
