Severe Weather protocol for rough sleepers as temperatures plunge

19/11/2025

A warm and dry place to sleep will be made available

With temperatures set to fall to minus three overnight West Northamptonshire Council has activated its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol.   This will be in place until at least 9am tomorrow.

It means rough sleepers in the council’s area, including Brackley and Middleton Cheney, will be provided with somewhere warm and dry to stay overnight.

All known rough sleepers are being made aware, but for those that need access to accommodation they are asked to call 0300 126 7000.

In the Cherwell District area, Oxfordshire Connection’s Support Outreach service offers support to rough sleepers.  They can be contacted on 01865 711267 or [email protected].

The cold spell is currently expected to last to the weekend.
