Shrek cast ready with toe-tapping tunes and fairytale favourites

It’s the Avocet Theatre Company’s 10th anniversary year
Tonight is opening night for members of the Avocet Theatre Company with their latest production, Shrek the Musical, which is being performed at Wykham Theatre.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, Shrek the Musical brings everyone’s favourite unlikely hero to life on stage, complete with a fantastic, toe-tapping score and all the fairytale favourites audiences know and love.
The show features a large cast of adults and young performers from across our area and comes during the groups 10th anniversary year.
Ben Coleman, Chairman of Avocet Theatre Company, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Shrek the Musical to Banbury as part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations.
“This show has everything – heart, humour, incredible music and a powerful message about embracing who you are. It perfectly reflects what ATC stands for: community, inclusion, ambition and joy.
“We are so proud of the cast – which is made up of local adults and teenagers – as well as the fantastic creative team, and we can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve created.”
Performances run until Saturday each evening at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets details are available here.
