POWER CUTS
Supplies in an area around Shutford, Alkerton and Epwell were lost at 3.25pm on Saturday. National Grid said there was a fault on their high voltage network. Some properties had their power restored but 318 remained without supplies. Most were restored at 9.38pm on Sunday. This morning 39 remain without electricity. [INCD-30662-m]
Mollington, Shotteswell, Hornton and parts of Horley were without power from 4.25pm on Saturday. Power was restored to 252 homes but 7 are still affected this morning. [INCD-30691-m]

WEATHER FORECAST
A yellow weather warning for wind has been extended to 6pm today. However the gusts won’t be as strong as yesterday and will reduce as the day goes on. The wind will be accompanied by rain.
TRAINS
Chiltern Railways are advising customers to only travel if absolutely necessary again today. Due to a safety inspection of the track between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone fewer trains are able to run on all lines.

Cross Country also advise not to travel today, adding that they expect services will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes across the network. Tickets not used today will be accepted up until the end of service on Wednesday December 11.

Homes in Hinton-in-the-Hedges lost supplies just after 5.30pm on Saturday. Of the 124 properties affected all by 37 had power back just after 9am. The rest are expected to be back by midday. [INCD-68271-h]

Power is out at 302 homes in Broughton and North Newington. Supplies went at 6pm on Saturday. Restoration is estimated at 6pm today. [INCD-30785-m]
Parts of Bodicote, Adderbury and Twyford lost their power supplies at 6.20am today. Supplies for 542 houses were restored around 1pm. Its hoped the remaining 3 will be fixed by 6pm. [INCD-31076-m]
NOW RESOLVED Properties in Croughton, Aynho , Charlton and Kings Sutton lost power at around 5.15pm on Saturday. 930 supplies have now been restored. The remaining 18 should be resolved by midday. [INCD-68263-h]
ROADS
[9.30am] We’re told in Deddington a tree on the A4260 opposite Begal Spice has been reported as unsafe. Please take care when passing.
EVENTS
Sunday’s Junior Parkrun has also been cancelled.
Adderbury Lakes is closed all weekend.

WEATHER FORECAST
A yellow weather warning for wind is in force for our area from 3pm on Friday until 6am on Sunday. Gusts of up to 60mph are predicted.
TRAINS
Chiltern Railways are advising customers to only travel if absolutely necessary on Saturday. A reduced timetable will be in operation with one train per hour in service on all routes. Customers with tickets on Saturday can use their ticket on Sunday 8 December (subject to the storm subsiding), Monday 9 December or Tuesday 10 December instead.
Tony Baxter, Operations Director at Chiltern Railways, said: “I urge customers to only travel if essential on Saturday and take extra care as Storm Darragh will cause disruption to our services.
“Strong winds can significantly impact railway infrastructure, including blowing trees or other objects onto the line and unfortunately the storm is set to affect our network throughout Saturday.”

ROADS (lastest first)
[9.00pm] The road between Deddington and Clifton has a tree down blocking the whole road. Local residents have been warning people with torches the electric lines have been taken down with the tree so its not sage to try and drive around.
[5.40pm] In Banbury a tree is down across the Oxford Road close to Sainsburys.
[4.30pm] The A422 between Brackley and Farthinghoe is blocked by a fallen tree. One driver had a very lucky escape when the tree came down.
[SAT PM] In Banbury a tree has come down at the top of Calthorpe Road, close to the junction with Old Parr Road.
[SAT PM] On the A361 at the Williamscot Hill a tree is down. The road is just passable.
[SAT PM] A tree has come down between Twyford and Kings Sutton, just after the M40 bridge close to Twyford Wharf.
[SAT AM] In Banbury on Beechfield Crescent (between Grange Road and Farmfield Road) a tree is down blocking the road.
[SAT AM] In Banbury there are reports of fallen trees on the Bloxham Road, with teams working to clear them.
[SAT AM] In Bloxham on Courtington Lane there is flooding on the corner of Workhouse Lane.
[SAT BREAKFAST] Hook Norton – a tree is down on Bourne Lane and the road is blocked.

NOW FIXED A power cut affecting parts of Middleton Cheney, Farthinghoe and Overthorpe was reported at 2pm, initially affecting 1,167 properties. Some have been restored but 604 remain without supplies. Its hoped these will be back by 7pm.
NOW FIXED Properties in Claydon, Mollington, and Cropredy have no power due to a fault on the overhead network. Supplies may go on and off whilst work to resolve the problem takes place. It was estimated that the issue may be resolved by midnight, but actually fixed at 1.47pm.
NOW FIXED Adderbury – in West Adderbury properties lost power just after 6am. 104 remain withgout supplies. Restoration is estimated for 9am.
EVENTS
Banbury Cross Round Table have cancelled tonight’s Santa’s Float in Banbury. They said: “We’re sorry to announce that due to the ongoing stormy weather there will be no Santa’s sleigh visit to the Park Rd area of Banbury tonight.
“With a risk of falling / flying debris we have to put the safety of our volunteers and the general public first – especially Santa who is indeed stuck in the chimney and wouldn’t be able to get out of the way!”
Earlier
Banbury Market have confirmed the usual Saturday market has been cancelled.
The organisers of the weekly Parkrun in Spiceball Park have also pulled the plug on Saturday’s event. Sunday’s Junior Parkrun has also been cancelled.
Banbury BID’s Lantern Parade on Saturday afternoon has been put back by one week. Jasmine Gilhooly, Banbury BID Strategist, said: “We are deeply saddened to postpone the event, but the safety of our community is paramount. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support, and we look forward to celebrating together next weekend under more favorable conditions.”
Adderbury Lakes will be closed all weekend.
SPORT
Banbury United’s game against Kettering Town at Station Approach has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and safety concerns over high winds.
Oxford United’s Championship match at Plymouth Argyle is OFF.
