Strike action affecting rail network through Banbury
12/05/2023
Industrial action is being taken by members of ASLEF and the RMT over coming days
No trains are running through Banbury station today (Friday). Industrial action by Aslef members is affecting both Chiltern and Cross Country services.
Further industrial action is also scheduled on the rail network over coming days.
From tomorrow until May 21 Chiltern is urging customers to only travel if absolutely essential. They will have a significantly reduced timetable in place due to strike action by the RMT on May 13 and an overtime ban by ASLEF between May 15 and May 20.
The overtime ban means that Chiltern will have less drivers than usual each day, and that the operator will be unable to move and position its fleet of trains how it normally would overnight.
