Parents were asked to rank their secondary school preferences
The success rate for Oxfordshire children securing their parents’ first choice of secondary school is slightly down on last year’s figure. However, the figure is better than for children across the border in West Northamptonshire.
Today is Secondary National Offer Day. 85.4 percent of pupils in Oxfordshire have been allocated a place at their first preference school. Last year the figure was 87.4 percent.
Overall just 3.6 percent of children in the county weren’t offered a place at any of the school’s selected by their parents.
The position was worse in West Northamptonshire, with almost a quarter of children (23.1 percent) not receiving a place at their first preference school.
Families in Oxfordshire wishing to challenge the outcome of their application can appeal by March 31.
