Suspected drug dealer pursued through town during early hours

A 23-year-old man was taken into Police Custody for a number of drug and driving offences

Police have taken a man into custody after a vehicle associated with drug dealing failed to stop when requested early on Sunday morning (May 8).   This led to a pursuit through Banbury.  

Officers first spotted the vehicle in the town centre during the early hours.   They knew it had been involved in supplying Class A drugs.

When they attempted to stop it, the vehicle sped off at high speed out of town along the Oxford Road.

A pursuit began, which continued onto the Timms Estate.  

The initial two officers were joined by members of the Incident Crime Response and Roads Policing teams who stopped the vehicle and apprehended a 23-year-old man.  He was taken into Police Custody for Failing to Stop, Dangerous Driving, Possession of Class A drugs and being Concerned in the Supply of Drugs. His vehicle was also seized.
