Taunton pull out of championship game with Banbury
27/04/2022
The Puritans say they are very disappointed
The Southern League Championship game between Banbury United and Taunton Town this weekend is off.
The game had been scheduled to take place at Station approach on Saturday and would have seen Banbury as the winners of the Southern League Premier Division Central face the Taunton, who last weekend became the winners of the Southern League Premier Division South.
It appears Taunton withdrew from the game. The Southern League say the Somerset based club were unable to field a team.
In an update Banbury United said they were very disappointed and would issue a fuller statement in due course.

They knew for a long time they would have to travel to meet Banbury so they’ve decided not to field a team against Banbury as it’s a long way to come to loose…so they leave it late to pull out…..they need to be punished by the league…
