The company said it would have run out of money by March 24

The company which provides water and sewage services to much of the Banbury FM area has been given a lifeline as it faced running out of money in the next month.

The High Court has approved a £3bn loan for Thames Water, which said without the loan its cash would dry up by March 24.

The judge in the case was Mr Justice Leech who said the costs of finance and adviser fees in the case might be described as eye-watering.

The loan comes with a 9.75 percent interest rate and will cost at least £100m in fees.
