Thanks and praise for Chenderit’s retiring headteacher
18/07/2024
Jane Cartwright has spent thirty-six years in education locally
The Headteacher at Chenderit School will be saying goodbye to her students one final time when they break up for the summer holidays next Monday. Jane Cartwright will be retiring at the end of August having been at Chenderit for eleven years, ten as Headteacher.
Before taking up the post at the school in Middleton Cheney Mrs Cartwright worked at the Warriner School in Bloxham and Banbury School (Wykham Park Academy), dedicating thirty-six years of her career to education in the area.
With Mrs Cartwright at the helm Chenderit has experienced significant success and transformation, achieving excellent academic results and fostering a nurturing and inclusive school environment with the motto ‘Aim High, Work Hard and Be Nice’.
Infrastructure improvements have included the building of a new £1. 2 million maths block.
Mrs Cartwright said: “Leading Chenderit has been one of the greatest privileges and honours of my life. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together.
“Our students, staff, and the entire school community, over 36 years, have continually inspired me with their support, dedication and passion.”
Mrs Cartwright will be attending a Celebration Evening later with students who will be collecting prizes for their achievements during the last school year.
Sophie Wilson, Chair of Chenderit’s Governing Body, said: “We are deeply thankful for Mrs Cartwright’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts over the years. Her legacy will leave a lasting impact on the school and its community.
“We wish her a well-deserved and fulfilling retirement.”
Chris Billings will take over as Headteacher at Chenderit on September 1. He is currently in the same role at Bishop Ullathorne Catholic School in Coventry.
