The Big Give will double donations to Katharine House

02/12/2025

Contributions will be matched pound for pound by donors until December 9

Katharine House Hospice is aiming to double the donations it receives this December by taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge.   It’s the second year the Hospice has joined in with the scheme.

All contributions made through the Big Give website from today until December 9 will be matched – pound for pound – by committed donors.

With rising costs, the hospice is facing increasing pressure to secure the funds needed to operate its full range of services – the bill for which is now more than £5.9 million annually.

After a successful Big Give campaign last year, the hospice hopes the community will once again help it reach its £40,000 target.

Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Katharine House, Stephanie Lawless, said, “Katharine House provides specialist, compassionate palliative care to people in your community, 365 days a year. We want to ask you to please offer your support for the Big Give this year.

“During the Christmas period, our teams go above and beyond to make the hospice feel special for our patients and their visitors. Sometimes we organise an earlier Christmas celebration for a patient. Christmas is a special time for so many, and we do whatever we can to help people to make special memories with their loved ones.

“As a local hospice, we will always need the support of you, our local community. Please help us to raise as much money as possible to support our incredible teams who look after our patients 24 hours a day over the Christmas period and beyond.”
