The brightest of the business community celebrated at awards
22/09/2022
An evening awards ceremony was held at Bicester Motion
Over 200 guests from across the district attended the Cherwell Business Awards last Friday evening. The event, which is now in its tenth year, celebrated the best and brightest of the business community locally, recognising hard work, success and entrepreneurship.
Neil Wild of Wild Property Consultancy was named the first winner of the Becky Moyce Tribute Award, presented in memory of the event’s former photographer, who sadly passed away in 2021. The award will be given to individuals in the Cherwell district who go above and beyond for the good of others and the business community. Mr Wild has nearly 30 years’ experience in the commercial property industry and is chair of Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce. He’s actively involved in events linked to the implementation of the District’s Development Plan.
Winners in the 11 award categories included the Marley Way based music store, One Man Band, who picked up the Bicester Village – Retail Award and green tech company Juice Global of Haslemere Way who won the Spratt Endicott Solicitors – Established Business Award.
The High Spec Composites – Small Business Award went to HNB Construction Services Ltd, who are based at Tusmore off the A43. They’re a building contractor who specialise in buildings of character such as listed barns and contemporary new builds.
Harry Rickard, who’s a Contracts Manager at Nicholsons was named the Kärcher – Young Business Person of the Year Award.
The Nicholsons – Sustainable Business Award went to Anode Ltd of Wroxton.
During the evening, which was held at Bicester Motion, guests enjoyed a drinks reception and 3-course dinner. A raffle raised over £2,000 for the winner of the EKFB Charity & Community Award – the Cherwell Theatre Company.
The Overall Cherwell Winner Award 2022, sponsored by Norbar Torque Tools and selected from the finalists, was awarded to PhysicsX Ltd – a team of scientists and engineers based at Bicester Heritage.
Placi Espejo, one of the four directors of the Cherwell Business Awards, said: “We are delighted to be back holding the award ceremony as a physical event again this year, particularly as it will be held within the district at the unique and iconic Bicester Motion.
“Congratulations to all the finalists, winners and a huge thank you to all the sponsors and supporters of this year’s awards.”
