Repairs to the Mill Arts Centre auditorium will now run into July

The Mill Arts Centre’s season in the pop-up theatre at the Woodgreen Leisure Centre has been extended.    Most of the events which had been planned for the Mill’s auditorium during July will now be held in the temporary theatre, which has been in use since the end of April.

The Mill’s auditorium has been closed since January when flooding damaged the building.   Extensive work was needed to not only fix damage to the auditorium floor, but also to future-proof against the issue happening again.

The pop-up theatre was created in the Woodgreen Leisure Centre’s indoor bowling hall, where professional staging, sound and lighting were installed.   Star of TV’s “The Chase”, Paul Sinha was the first person to appear at the venue.

The Mill has now confirmed that all live events up until July 31 will transfer to The Mill at Woodgreen, except the performance by comedian and writer Pierre Novellie on July 4, which will instead take place in the Millers Bar at The Mill.

Whilst the auditorium remains closed for repairs other parts of The Mill remain open as normal.
