Three members of the same family have been jailed following the theft of £8,000 worth of antique items from a house in Culworth.
On March 10 last year, at just after 11am, 51-year-old Justin Stockbridge, his brother Scott Stockbridge, who’s 48, and Scott’s 30-year-old son Kaine Milstead, forced entry into the home.
Once inside, they stole various antique items including a copper cauldron, a pair of Punch and Judy doorsteps, large antique brass oil lamp stands and a mirror. They then fled the scene in a white Ford Transit van.
Following an investigation by Northamptonshire Police’s Burglary Team all three were arrested and charged.
Justin Stockbridge pleaded guilty to the offences in August at Aylesbury Crown Court.
His brother Scott pleaded not guilty to the offences but was subsequently found guilty following a trial at Aylesbury Crown Court in November. At the same trial he was also convicted of another theft, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
On December 2 the Stockbridge brothers returned to court where Scott was sentenced to six years and nine weeks in prison and Justin to two years.
Kaine Milstead pleaded guilty to the offences and returned to Northampton Magistrates’ Court on March 26 this year where he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for the Culworth burglary and driving offences.
Lead investigator PC Christina Cooper from the Force’s Burglary Team, said: “This burglary took place in a very rural area, but thanks to our joint enquiries with Thames Valley Police, we were led to these three men, and I am really pleased to see them all sent to prison.
“Thankfully the homeowner was not in when this burglary took place, and I would like to thank their family for their support and patience throughout our investigation.”
Scott Stockbridge had previously been from Southall, Justin Stockbridge from High Wycombe and Kaine Milstead previously of Beaconsfield.
