Town Mayor’s Fun Day lived up to its name
17/07/2024
Lennie the Land Train was a popular attraction throughout the event
Banbury’s Town Mayor, Councillor Mark Cherry, was on hand throughout Sunday to welcome people to his Fun Day.
Large crowds packed People’s Park for a day of fun and excitement, with axe-throwing, crazy golf, and rock climbing amongst the free attractions on offer.
For animal lovers both ferret racing and a fun dog show, in partnership with Dogs for Good, provided plenty of entertainment, alongside a number of arena acts.
The Mayor was one of those taking advantage of a trip on Lennie the Land Train – a locomotive that took guests on a tour around the perimeter of the park.
At the end of the Fun Day Councillor Cherry said: “The Banbury Town Mayor Fun Day was fun, glad the people of Banbury enjoyed it, the weather was fantastic. Special thanks to town council staff and store organisers who made the event possible.”
