Trick or treating? Think of others before calling

26/10/2021

Be considerate of houses where trick or treaters might be unwelcome or considered intimidating

With Halloween coming up this Sunday Thames Valley Police is reminding us that not everyone will want to join in with trick or treating. In some cases people calling may be seen as unwelcome or even intimidating.

The force’s Neighbourhood teams will be carrying out evening patrols this weekend to ensure that Halloween is celebrated in a safe and friendly manner.

They ask that people be considerate and only visit households where they are sure the occupants want to participate.

The police have made a “No Trick or Treat” sign available for households wanting to indicate that they don’t want to be disturbed. The poster is available here.
