16/03/2024
Crime Scene Investigators have been at the scene this morning
An on-going police investigation following an incident on Friday evening has led to the closure of White Lion Walk in Banbury.
Thames Valley police were called to the area at 7.18pm following reports of a concern for welfare.
Detectives are currently investigating the incident and Crime Scene Investigators have been at the scene during the last few hours.
Two men, both aged 40-years-old and from Banbury, have been arrested on suspicion of rape. They remain in custody.
Business owners were told they couldn’t enter their premises when they arrived at work this morning. One told Banbury FM: “We turned up at 7am and were turned away. We were told it would be shut all day.”
Initially most of White Lion Walk was closed but the taped off area was reduced to a section close to the High Street by late morning.
Thames Valley Police is asking anyone who was in the area at the time last night, or who has any information, to call 101 quoting 43240122145.
