Ultrasound service operating from Brackley Medical Centre
20/08/2024
295 scans were completed at the facility in a month
An ultrasound service is now operating from Brackley Medical Centre.
This is able to produce abdominal and gynaecology scans for people who would otherwise have to take a trip to an ultrasound unit in hospital.
The service usually operates five days a week between 8am and 4pm from the Wellington Suite rooms at the health centre.
A Radiology team from Oxford University Hospitals Trust have been using space at the centre since the end of June and by the end of July had scanned 295 patients.
Oxford University Hospitals Trust are using the Brackley base to help support the wider community ultrasound locations, which they already have in Bicester and Chipping Norton.
Patients benefit from having their scans completed closer to home, and the Trust says the response from patients so far has been positive.
