Umbrella theme for Winter Solstice event

Three free drop-in activity sessions are running
Tomorrow is the shortest day – the Winter Solstice – and a special event has been organised to mark the occasion.
Three different activities have been organised in Banbury town centre, starting in the Bridge Street Garden. Here artist Helen Edwards is inviting people to take along an umbrella and wellies to join in with an Umbrella Dance – even if its not raining! That starts at 1pm.
After that the group will process to a unit in Castle Quay for an art session with a chance to add festive decorations to the umbrellas. Those joining in will also be able to create a winter bracelet, complete with bells. The session begins at 1.45pm.
Once complete, at 3pm the group will parade to The Mill Arts Centre for seasonal refreshments.
People can join in with all three activities or just drop in when they want. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
