University places secured by successful North Oxfordshire Academy students

A level hard work pays off with three students securing Oxbridge places
There were celebrations at North Oxfordshire Academy this morning as students opened their A Level results. Over three quarters of entries achieved A* to C grades with 23% achieving the top A* to A grades.
The excellent results mean that all those students who applied to university have secured their place – including three at Oxbridge.
Flav Covaci achieved three A*s and an A and is off to study English Literature at Mansfield College, University of Oxford. Collecting his results today, Flav said: “North Oxfordshire Academy has been so crucial in my journey over the past seven years. I would have never had the confidence to apply to Oxbridge without the Oxford mentoring programme.”
Deborah Omolegan-Obe, who achieved two A*s and two As, has secured a place to study Law at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. She said: “I am so grateful for North Oxfordshire Academy and so excited for what the future holds!”
Other students celebrating included Halima Saeed who will study Law at St Hugh’s College in Oxford after achieving A*, A, B and Alice Batchelor who achieved A*, two As and B and is going to study Psychology at Lancaster University.
Victoria Adajare will study Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Nottingham after achieving three As and Martyna Szulc will study Chemistry at the University of Sheffield after achieving two A*s and two As.
The Principal at North Oxfordshire Academy, Alison Merrills, said: “Congratulations to all of our students who have received fantastic results this year. All students have done exceptionally well and we are incredibly proud of how they overcome all the challenges over the past two years.
“I wish them all the best as they move onto university.”
