King’s Sutton Millennium Memorial Hall is regularly used but needs a new Treasurer

Villagers are looking for someone with financial experience who might have some spare time to give so their meeting place can remain open.

The Trustees at King’s Sutton Millennium Memorial Hall need to find a new volunteer to take on the role of Treasurer as the current post-holder is standing down at their Annual General Meeting in April.

The Gardening Club, Film Society and WI are amongst those regularly using the hall, with pilates, bowls and tai chi also taking place in the building.

A part time employed manager oversees the running of the building, but a treasurer is essential in ensuring hire fees are collected and bills are paid.

Its feared that unless a new Treasurer can be found the Millennium Memorial Hall will not be able to continue operating.

Trustee Chairman Bob Burrell said: “It’s a well-supported building with regular users and clubs and some ad-hoc bookings, but – without being alarmist – if we don’t find a new Treasurer by April the building will have to close.”

Anyone wanting to find out more about the role can contact Mr Burrell on 07970 934309.
