Fire fighters had to cut one person free from their vehicle
With the darker evenings and plummeting temperatures Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning to people to take extra care when travelling.
It comes after firefighters from Banbury Fire Station were called to a collision on the A361 last Wednesday, which resulted in two people being hospitalised. A blue Ford Focus and a blue Audi TT were involved in the crash on the Williamscott Hill, between Wardington and the M40, at around 7.20pm.
The crew from Banbury received support from Brackley Fire Station and a specialist Rescue Tender from Kidlington. They worked to release one person who was trapped in their vehicle.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “As the evenings draw in earlier and the weather begins to change, our roads can quickly become icy and unpredictable. Please take extra care when travelling and remember the Fatal 4: drink & drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, using mobile phones and speeding.”
Following the collision Thames Valley Police issued a request for witnesses and those with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
