Warning to follow rules as group caught at country park

Patrols will be continuing to keep the area safe and enjoyable for everyone

Police caught a large group of people driving vehicles across the hills and lighting a barbecue in the Burton Dassett Country Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The group was spotted during a routine patrol by officers from Wellesbourne station.

Vehicles are only permitted in the car parks and on the roads through the park area and barbecues are prohibited, as is highlighted by signs around the site.

A spokesperson for Wellesbourne Police said: “As the weather improves we’d like to remind locals and visitors alike that patrols will be continuing at this location and we will be working closely with our Warwickshire County Council Park Ranger and Caretaker colleagues to ensure the area remains a safe and enjoyable space for all.”
