Armistice Day marked in Banbury
People fell silent around the Banbury FM area at 11am on Friday morning to mark Armistice Day.
In People’s Park in Banbury people gathered to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts around the world. Banbury Sea Cadets Chaplin the Reverend Lynda Adkins led a short Service.
Members of the Royal British Legion bore their standards as members of the public gathered around the War Memorial.
Councillor Keiron Mallon laid a wreath on behalf of the Royal British Legion Banbury. A contingent of children from St John’s Priory School watched as one of their fellow pupils came forward to lay a second wreath.
After the Royal British Legion Ode, buglers Mike Neal and Chris Page played the last post before two minutes silence was observed.
