Police want to hear from any witnesses to the incident
A 20-year-old from Banbury has been arrested after police received reports of men fighting with weapons outside the Woodgreen Leisure Centre. During the incident, on Wednesday afternoon, one person appeared to be carrying a machete.
The first reports of the incident in the leisure centre’s car park were made at around 3.50pm.
One man, who was wearing a grey North Face coat, was seen being chased by another man dressed in black and wearing a balaclava. He appeared to be carrying a long dark weapon.
Shortly afterwards, other individuals were seen in the area of the leisure centre, including one carrying what appeared to be a machete.
All the men left the scene in the direction of Poolside Close, with the offenders heading off in a silver Honda Civic.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Chris Eaton, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the area on Wednesday (17/12) at around 3.50pm and witnessed this incident, to please come forward to us.
“I’d also be keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage or images which may assist this investigation.
