Wearing PE kit helps Warriner students stay cool
20/07/2021
Pupils allowed to wear cooler PE kit in light of the heatwave
With temperatures set to remain in the high twenties Celsius for a few days the head of school at one local secondary school has decided on a change of official uniform for the remainder of school term.
From today until Thursday lunchtime when term finishes pupils at the Warriner School in Bloxham will be allowed to wear their school PE kit rather than the usual school uniform. Head of school Sharon Nicholls feels the move will help pupils keep cool and more able to concentrate in class.
In a message to parents Ms Nicholls said: “Due to the extreme weather I have made the decision to allow all students to wear their Warriner School PE kit to school for the rest of this term, in place of their usual school uniform. I think that this will be cooler and allow students to remain focussed in lessons.
“May I stress that this must be the Warriner School PE kit only and that this is not a non-uniform day/week.
“If students would prefer to wear their usual Warriner School uniform they are of course free to do so.”
