At the moment there is no confirmation of the breed of dogs seized

A woman has been arrested in connection with the dangerous dog incident which occurred between Hanwell and Banbury’s Hanwell Fields estate on Wednesday (March 26).

The woman, who’s in her 30s, is from the town.   Her arrest was on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control.

Two dogs have also been seized.   At the moment there is no confirmation of the breed of these animals.

The woman has been bailed and police enquiries are continuing.

As we previously reported, on Wednesday a small white schnauzer and poodle mixed-breed was being walked by its owner in the field between St Peters Church and Hanwell Fields.   As she entered the field her pet was attacked by another dog, which wasn’t on a lead.

Sadly the woman’s dog died at the scene.
