Thames Valley Police have appealed for specific witnesses to come forward
A woman was repeatedly assaulted and touched inappropriately after being dragged from a car on a Banbury street.
Two men were also assaulted after they went to the woman’s aid. Its believed weapons were used.
It was around 7.15pm on Tuesday October 22 when the assaults took place. A black saloon car pulled up to pick up a man on Boxhedge Road near the roundabout on Belgrave Crescent. At this point a number of men and women pulled up in white hatchback vehicle as they had been following the man.
They then dragged the woman from the car. She was repeatedly assaulted, touched inappropriately through her clothing, and had threats made to her.
The man who had been picked up and another man went to defend the woman were also assaulted.
Thames Valley Police have made six arrests and all six have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers are now appealing from a number of specific witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Connie Palfrey, said: “We have been conducting thorough enquiries into this incident and following a number of lines of enquiry and we believe that the parties involved in this incident are known to each other, as such we do not believe there to be a threat to the wider public.
“We are aware that two men who were walking by and stopped at the scene to try and help, and we are aware that silver hatchback, a black estate, a red Mini and a white VW polo or similar also passed the scene.
“Additionally a small blue SUV style vehicle also sounded its horn.
“We would ask all of these motorists and the two men who stopped on foot to please come forward.
