Work to stop flooding at the Fairway agreed

The road has been under water next to a regularly used bus stop
Work to resolve issues with flooding in a Banbury neighbourhood could get underway in April.
Oxfordshire County Council has agreed to upgrade the system which removes surface water from The Fairway, where local people have suffered regular flooding during the last three years.
The project is currently being reviewed and could involve an additional gully or upsizing the existing one.
During the last year the road has been flooded 7 times at a point next to a regularly used bus stop.
Councillor Mark Cherry has been working on behalf of local residents to resolve the situation. He said: “It goes without saying it will be a big relief to Labour Ruscote Ward Councillors and the local community to get this issue of flooding on the Fairway resolved.”
