Cliff was the most Senior Member of the RAF Association Banbury Branch and sadly passed away in Banbury in early December 2023. He was 100 years old and a former Lancaster Navigator during WW2 who, it is believed, carried out more operational return sorties over enemy territory than any Airman still alive at the time – 50+!
Cliff received a short Service of Remembrance and Committal on 29 Dec 23 in Banbury, but it is felt by the Association, the Community and Cliff’s family that more should be done to honour and remember such a unique member of our Service. A formal Memorial Service will allow the Service and the wider Community the opportunity to recognise Cliff as one of the ever-decreasing pool of a Golden Generation of Aviators who stood firm during some of the Nations darkest days.

14:55 – Standard Bearers and family enter Church – Welcome and H&S Brief
