Access to the 5.48 Hectare site would be from the Barford Road
The edge of Bloxham will be extended further to the south if a planning application for 120 new houses gets the go-ahead.
An outline application has been submitted to build on arable land next to Bloxham Mill, to the east of the Barford Road.
Ainscough Strategic Land have been working with Elizabeth Wyatt, Graham Woodard, Angela Woodard and Benjamin Hedges on the plans, which suggest 78 of the properties would be sold at market rate, with the rest noted as affordable.
There is one building currently on the edge of the farmland, which sits opposite Maule Close. It is proposed that this be demolished.
Access to the 5.48 Hectare site would be from the Barford Road.
A design and access statement submitted with the application says: “The development will create a high quality inclusive, sustainable residential neighbourhood which maintains and enhances the key existing landscape features, integrating the site into the wider area.
“The development will ensure a well-informed, safe and attractive neighbourhood, which promotes the well-being of its residents and visitors.
“The properties will be accessible for all and the site is accessible by a range of means of transport giving residents and visitors a choice about how they travel.”
Comments are now being invited from the public. These must be submitted by June 6. The application has been given reference 25/01009/OUT.
A decision on an application for 130 houses on nearby land between the Barford Road and the A361 is due this Thursday.
