Mollington man charged with assault after coughing at officer
A man being sought by police coughed in the face of an officer and claimed he was infected with covid-19 (coronavirus). The 27 year old from Mollington was wanted by the police and was being arrested at the time.
Following the incident the officers spoke to the Crown Prosecution Service and the man was charged with assault on an emergency worker. He has been remanded in custody and appear in court on Monday.
A statement from Thames Valley Police said, “Actions like this will not be tolerated and we thank the CPS for their support and charge in this matter”.
