With lockdown rules on holding weddings now lifted couples can begin making plans at a local online event today

Brides and grooms were this week given the green light to start planning their special day.   Today (Sunday) a virtual wedding fair has been organised so happy couples can get their preparations underway and begin the build up after weeks of lockdown let downs.

Catriona Smillie and Sarah Pearce of Banbury’s Wedding Emporium have organised today’s virtual wedding fair.   In order to operate safely and within social distancing rules the whole event will run from midday online.   The virtual wedding fair will give couples easy access local trusted venues and suppliers in one place.

On Tuesday Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that wedding ceremonies could once again be held from July 4th, albeit with a maximum of 30 people in attendance and social distancing being practised.

Catriona told Banbury FM, “We are aware that a huge number of couples are desperate to plan for 2021 and 2022.   Some who have postponed from 2020 are now looking for [alternative] suppliers as the original ones they’d booked are not available on their new dates”.

Throughout the virtual wedding fair suppliers will be sharing videos and clips to inspire couples.   Many will also be online to chat.  The online event is free to attend.

Catriona said, “With so many weddings postponing from 2020, 2021 and 2022 are looking very busy already for venues and suppliers with many peak dates already booked.   Without wanting to panic couples they need to bear this in mind in their planning”.

The Virtual Wedding Fair will be running between midday and 3pm and can be accessed here.   All the information will remain available after the event for those unable to join in on Sunday afternoon.
