Banbury United FC Women hold an Open Day as they prepare for their games in 2020/21

A new management team is taking the helm for Banbury United FC Women’s team and they have organised their first training session for this Sunday.   The event will be treated as an Open Day and any potential new players are invited to attend.

Precautions have been carefully planned with strict COVID-19 protection protocols in place to ensure any current and future players present will be kept safe.

First Team Manager Thomas Jacob told Banbury FM, “Banbury United are the third biggest club in Oxfordshire behind Oxford City and Oxford United so pushing the club forward is vital.

“This will be a great opportunity for any player that’s looking to progress within the game”.

Hannah Thomas takes on the role of Head of Women’s Football and John Clark is the Development Manager.

Potential new team members are being offered women’s football at a club with FA registered coaches, a 6,500 capacity ground and a strong culture to improve players.

The Open Day training session runs at the Banbury Plant Hire Stadium from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday.    Any ladies attending will meet the management team and coaches and learn about plans for the forthcoming season.

Prior to attending the training session, amongst a list of precautionary measures players and coaches will be required to complete a self-administered temperature check. Social distancing will be adhered to during the afternoon.

The club say, “The principle of ‘get in, train safely and get out’ will apply”.

Any women interested in attending should register in advance by emailing hannahthomas255@gmail.com or calling Thomas Jacob on 07412 983879.
