Power was out in Little Bourton until 9pm Friday

Line fault took out supplies to 1,094 properties on Friday afternoon
130 properties in Little Bourton were without power into Friday evening due to a problem with an overhead power line that supplies the village. It was anticipated power would not be restored until around 9pm.
The fault first occurred at around 3.30pm on Friday afternoon and initially tripped out power for 1.094 customers in the Banbury area. Automated switching restored the supply to 500 of these properties within three minutes.
Engineers from Western Power Distribution arrived on scene and began work to locate the fault. They were able to restore supplies by 4.30pm to all properties apart from those in the village of Little Bourton itself.
A spokesman for Western Power Distribution told Banbury FM, “The power goes off when a fault is detected by the system to protect the engineers working in the area. They can bring back people’s supplies as they manage to isolate the problem”.
