TEDxBanbury sets an autumn date for 2021 and begins process of finding speakers

The group with the aim of sharing “ideas worth spreading” is set to make a return to North Oxfordshire in the autumn next year.   TEDxBanbury’s first event was held at St Mary’s Church in Banbury in February this year and was a huge success.   Live talks from the show have subsequently been viewed online some 9000 times.

The theme of TEDxBanbury 2021 will be ‘Synergy’ – an open-ended theme embracing technology, entertainment and design.    The event is scheduled to take place on 18th September 2021.

Lead organiser Karen Baldry said, “Given the current climate regarding COVID 19, TEDx Organisers worldwide are busy devising pioneering ways to safely host their local TEDx events.

“TEDxBanbury is looking in the first instance to curate a live audience event, with social distancing measures in place if necessary.   In addition, we are exploring recorded and live streaming options, which would continue to have a value for our TEDxBanbury followers, whilst also offering a degree of audience participation. It is an exciting challenge, different and one which will be evolving constantly.”

TEDx Banbury is looking for speakers and is seeking “extraordinary minds, with ideas that stand out, cut through and resonate globally”. Their speaker application process is now open for individuals who have ideas they would like to share on stage at the event.   The invitation to participate is particularly extended to student speakers between the ages of 16-20 years old.
