Nine-year-old hopes lots of people will buy tickets today in the raffle he has organised

Enterprising Freddie Morgan-Smart, who celebrated his ninth birthday earlier this week, will be at Banbury Market today selling raffle tickets to raise money for the Horton General Hospital Charity.   The Grange School pupil wants to raise £500 for the NHS.

Freddie has spent the last few weeks contacting local companies to gather prizes for his raffle.   Generous local donors have been quick to support the youngster with prizes, including a pressure washer, vouchers, cream tea and beauty treatments.

Due to licencing laws Freddie can only sell his raffle tickets today so he is hoping to have a busy time at his stall.   The deadline for purchasing tickets is 3pm, after which the draw will take place.

Freddie has previously raised over £200 for the Horton General Hospital Charity by baking and selling cakes.   He isn’t planning on retiring after this latest initiative either, although he says he may have a month off first!

Freddie told Banbury FM it would be easy to find his stall in Banbury Market as it would be surrounded by balloons, which he was asking his mum Clare and her partner Andy to blow up for him.

Here are some of the prizes in Freddie’s raffle:

Cadbury Family Ticket
Halfords – car cleaning kit
R3balance – beauty vouchers
Max photo – Photo album
Homebase – various goodies
Limes Farm  – Cream tea for two
Union – gift voucher
