Threats and abuse to locals leads to suspended prison sentence for Banbury woman

Gillet Road resident breached injunction barring her from causing nuisance and annoyance to local residents
A 56 year old Banbury woman has been given a suspended prison sentence after she was found guilty of five breaches of a civil injunction.
Aparecida Rocha of Gillett Road, was found guilty at Oxford County Court last Thursday (6th August) for breaching the injunction granted under the Antisocial Behaviour Crime & Policing Act 2014.
Rocha had the injunction issued in March of this year, barring her from causing nuisance and annoyance to local residents following incidents of threats and abuse.
At the County Court last Thursday, she was sentenced to four weeks’ imprisonment, suspended until 10 March 2021, when her current injunction is due to expire.
Investigating officer PC Matthew Longman, based at Bicester police station, said: “Rocha was given the injunction in March of this year, and after a short period of time, she then returned to her previous behaviour, causing harassment, alarm and distress to her neighbours on five separate occasions.
“She has showed a flagrant disregard to the injunction.
“Any further incidents of anti-social behaviour by Rocha which are found guilty at court could mean that suspended sentence would be activated and so I hope that she will now realise the consequences of her actions.”
“Thames Valley Police will always seek to protect residents of our local communities where they have been subjected to repeated and sustained incidents of anti-social behaviour.”
