Fatal Friday afternoon accident between Banbury and Wardington
A woman in her twenties lost her life in an accident on the A361 between Banbury and Wardington on Friday afternoon (28th August).
The woman was driving a pink Fiat 500 which collided with a dark coloured Mercedes CLA. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at around 5.30pm. Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses.
The woman’s Fiat 500 was travelling towards Daventry when it was involved in a collision with the Mercedes CLA, travelling towards Banbury. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the Mercedes and the passenger, who are both female, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Investigating officer PC Tony Lee, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing department based at Bicester, said: “This is a collision in which sadly a woman in her twenties has died. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
“We are carrying out an investigation and we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have dash cam footage of the collision to please get in touch.”
Officers from both Thames Valley Police and Northants Road Policing Unit attended the scene of the accident.
