Car booters and table top sellers invited back to unique Bodicote event
15/09/2020
Socially distanced selling as buyers operate from their own driveways, garages and gardens
Car booters and table top sellers have spent long periods unable to buy and sell during 2020 due to the pandemic. Now, an ingenious idea in Bodicote offers both buyers and sellers the chance to begin trading in a safe and unique way.
The village will be holding it’s first Walking Garage and Car Boot Sale on Sunday 27th September, running between 1 and 4pm.
With social distancing in mind, rather than the sellers going to one site they will sell from their own driveways, garages or gardens. Buyers will be able to walk around Bodicote visiting the various sellers as they go.
A list of houses and streets participating will be available online, together with a map leading buyers to all the bargains.
One of the organising team told Banbury FM, “People are being encouraged to check their lofts, garages, sheds and wardrobes to find goods to sell. Hopefully by enabling running an event like this it will encourage recycling and prevent items being disposed off”.
Buyers will be asked to pay a £5 fee to join in with the event and this fee will be donated to Dogs For Good.
So far around 30 sellers have been registered to take place in the event. Organisers are asking all those joining in and visiting the village to ensure they comply with any Government guidelines regarding Covid-19 and observe social distancing.
You can register to take part by completing a simple online form which can be found on the Bodicote village Facebook page here.
