Virtual open days lined up for local secondary schools and colleges

Parents and students invited to a number of online events for year 7 intake next September and those looking at further education

Parents considering their child’s move into secondary school education for next September have a raft of Open Evenings available to them over the coming days.   Due to COVID-19 all the events are happening virtually.

Applications must be received by midnight on October 31st and with that deadline fast approaching we have put together details of all the local events parents might wish to attend.

The Warriner School virtual open day went live at 9am today (Tuesday 6th October). It is not a live-streamed event and so can be watched at any time.   Find out more here

Tomorrow (Wednesday 7th October) is an important date for parents of children interested in next September’s year 7 intake at the Wykham Park Academy for Year 7 and the Year 7 Pathway to Futures Institute. The Virtual Open Evening runs from 6.30pm.   Places can be booked by emailing transitions@wykhampark-aspirations.org.   Find out more here

Also tomorrow (Wednesday 7th October) Magdalen College School in Brackley will be hosting a virtual open day on their website.   Find out more here

The North Oxfordshire Academy virtual Open Evening will be held on Thursday 15th October.   There will be an opportunity to meet the staff, tour the facilities, and explore the curriculum. You will need to book a ticket here

Parents of prospective Year 7 pupils at Blessed George Napier will be able to view an on-line presentation and tour on their website.  The school say this will be available soon.   However, the prospectus for the academic year 2021-2022 is available now. Find out more here

Meanwhile for those looking towards further education Banbury and Bicester College have an Autumn Virtual Open Event on Wednesday (7 October) between 4 and 8pm.     The event will take place on the Activate Learning website and attendees will be able to watch presentations about the college and enjoy subject- specific talks. Prospective students will also get the chance to speak with faculty staff and ask any questions they have during our live Q&A sessions.   Find out more here
