COVID-19 cases increase with largest local jump in Grimsbury

Latest figures show 39 cases in last seven days in north of Cherwell District – up from 22 yesterday.
The latest daily COVID-19 figures have revealed a jump in the number of positive test cases reported in the north of the Cherwell District in the last seven days. In Grimsbury in the last 24 hours the number of cases reported have more than doubled.
The data also shows infections reported in the Calthorpe area of town for the first time in recent weeks and new cases in Bodicote, Adderbury & Bloxham.
Yesterday there were 22 reported COVID-19 cases in the north of the Cherwell District. Today that has leapt to 39.
In Grimsbury there are now 13 reported cases in the last seven days, up from 6 yesterday.
In town it is now only the Easington area which doesn’t have confirmed new cases in the last week. Cropredy, Wroxton & Shennington and Sibford, Hook Norton & Milcombe also continue to report no recent new cases.
Nationally 17,540 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours – 3,300 more than yesterday.
A total of 77 deaths have also been recorded within 28 days of a positive test.
