Supermarket staff are working hard to replenish the fresh and frozen food sections

An overnight power problem at Tesco Extra in Banbury left shoppers unable to purchase a number of chilled and frozen items today.   The store on Lockheed Close has been advising shoppers upon arrival that they might not be able to find some lines.

The problem left the store short of a number of items that are usually stored in the fridges.   Tesco confirmed to Banbury FM on Thursday evening it was still without certain items, but the supermarket’s staff were doing their best to get stock levels back to normal as soon as they could.

A spokesperson for Tesco said: “A power outage overnight at Banbury Extra means we do not currently have our full range of chilled and frozen goods available for customers and we’re very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

“Our colleagues are now working hard to replenish our fresh and frozen food sections as quickly as possible.”
