Banbury cheerleading squad set to fly the flag for the UK
Team Joyful will be heading to Florida next April
A local cheerleading squad has been picked to take part in a prestigious Cheerleading Summit in Florida next April.
Team Joyful from Vibes Fitness and Cheer in Banbury has also secured a bid to compete in the prestigious Open Championship Series event in Orlando.
The good news follows on from the squad taking home the top prize in their division at the Frost Fest, hosted last weekend.
Cheerleading is a hugely popular sport in America. Team Joyful hopes that its success will help boost recognition pf cheerleading in the UK. The journey to the USA will not only allow them to compete on a global stage but will also enable them to showcase the talent and spirit of our north Oxfordshire community.
The founder of Vibes, Corey Hobbs, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected for the summit. Team Joyful members are all super excited and can’t wait to demonstrate their skills to a wider audience. This young team have shown exceptional commitment and dedication, and they deserve their spot at the summit.”
Work has now begun to raise awareness and funds to pay for the team’s trip. Vibes’ members, families, and friends will be hosting a series of initiatives, challenges and events to raise cash and local businesses are also being asked to show their support.
A fundraising website has been set up and more information and details of sponsorship opportunities can be obtained by emailing email@example.com.
