He will appear at Oxford Crown Court on July 17

A Banbury man has been charged with GBH and possession of a bladed article following an incident in Oxford last Monday (June 15).

19-year-old Thomas Quinn, of Deacon Way, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

His arrest came after an incident in Beckett Drive in Radley.   A group of males travelling in a blue vehicle assaulted a man.   He sustained a serious injury and was treated in hospital, but has since been discharged.

About ten minutes earlier a separate incident was reported in the Barberi Close / St Nicholas Road area of Littlemore, during which another man was approached and threatened by a group of males travelling in a blue vehicle.  The victim left the scene uninjured.   Thames Valley Police believe the same vehicle was linked to both cases.

As part of their ongoing investigation officers charged Quinn with one count of section18 GBH and one count of possession of a bladed article.

Following his appearance at Oxford Magistrates’ Court he was remanded in custody pending a further court appearance at Oxford Crown Court on July 17.

Another seven arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.   Six people have been released on police bail and another person released with no further action to be taken.
