The new design replaces a logo which has been in use for 34 years

Banbury United has unveiled a brand new logo and club crest. The club says they are embarking on a concerted comeback with the most energetic vision for their future.

Sixty-eight percent of people who responded to a club consultation agreed that the club needed a new design.   The existing Puritans man design has been in use for around 34 years.

The brief was to stick with this and bring it up-to-date, although the club acknowledged the strength of feeling within the women and girls’ teams who expressed opposition to the Puritan ideology.

Six design ideas were shared with fans and the board and design team moved forward with the one which received the most support.   Feedback comments were added to the brief, leading to the image which has been seen for the first time today.

Work on the project has been undertaken by volunteers at the Club with support from a London agency where one of the club’s supporters works.

Its hoped the new modern look will be something that wider audiences will feel attracted to buy into.

A club statement said: “Thank you to everyone who participated in our fan consultation, which has helped us get to this point of being able to proudly present ourselves with a modern look worthy of a relevant, bright and confident football club, in 2024 and beyond.

“We present a contemporary badge that will look much more professional, particularly on clothing, merchandise and other branded items that go towards increasing the brand value of Banbury United.”
